Brielle Mark: Brielle has been a member of the TBS community since she was 15 years old. She served as co-chair of the Panim el Panim initiative, and has served on various other committees at TBS and in other Jewish organizations in the Greater Miami area. Brielle is a tax attorney and resides on Miami Beach with her husband, Etan, and children, Charlotte and Oliver, both of whom attended TBS Foundation School, jLAB and the B’nei Mitzvah program.
Larry Hurwitz: Larry Hurwitz is currently a Vice President of the TBS Board and co-chair of the Security Committee. He is a retired cardiologist and lives in Bay Harbor Islands with his wife Kathy.
Matthew Bial: Matthew is the President and Chief Technology Officer of SafeMed Solutions, a Florida-based healthcare technology company. He and his wife, Dr. Wendy Glaberson, are also the owners of Miami Pediatrics in Bay Harbor Islands. Matthew is an active member of the synagogue and has served on various temple committees, as Foundation School education co-chair, occasional Tot Shabbat song leader, and as a high holiday vocal soloist. He enjoys spending time with family and is a devoted father of two daughters, Jordan and Dylan.
Michael Conway: Michael is a co-founder of Lobkovich Designs, a 22-year-old residential design firm based in the Washington, DC area. Prior to that, Michael was the Vice President of Sales & Marketing for a division of LexisNexis in New York. He lives in mid beach with his husband Paul, and enjoys travel, time with family, and is active at the Temple.
Shelly Groff: A past president of Temple Beth Sholom, Shelley is a Vice- chair of the Union for Reform Judaism North American Board. She is on the Executive Committee of Women of Reform Judaism and the Foundation for Jewish Camp. Locally, Shelley serves on the Executive Committee of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, and the Jewish Community Relations Council. She and her husband, Jon, have two adult children—Aaron (Amanda) and Emily (Nick), and are the proud grandparents of Ari Julian Groff.
Debbie Hirschl: Debbie has been an active member of TBS for over thirty years and joined the Temple’s Board of Trustees this year. Debbie is a retired attorney who has chaired numerous special events and participated in TBS life on many levels. The Hirschl family cherishes their TBS relationships with the clergy and the entire community. What a privilege it has been to pray, study, experience and connect here at this vibrant synagogue.
Terry Jove: Terry has been a member of Temple Beth Sholom for 52 years. She was the very first bat mitzvah tutored by the infamous Shula Ben David. A former member of the Board of Trustees, Terry currently live in Bay Harbor with her husband Fred. She is the proud mother of three sons, each of whom is a current member of TBS.
David Karp: David is a former resident of Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania, south of Pittsburgh. He and his wife, Hilary Feldman, have been members of TBS for six years. He is a retired public school elementary teacher after 37 years, as well as a retired Hebrew and religious schoolteacher after 36 years at Temple Emanuel in Mt Lebanon.
Helena Kristol: Helena has been a member of the TBS community since she was 7 years old. She has the privilege of performing as a vocalist during the High Holiday Services and on occasional Friday Night Shabbat Services. Helena was one of the co-founders of the Tribe, the young professional Jewish networking group of TBS and currently serves on the Budget Committee. Helena resides in the Lakeview neighborhood of Miami Beach with her husband Drew, and two boys Austin and Jordan.
Bobbi Ossip: Bobbi is currently TBS Board Secretary, Chair of the High Holy Days Honors Committee, and a member of several other Temple committees. She has assisted Cantor Segal with scheduling lay chanters of Torah and Haftarah as well as serving as a regular chanter herself. She has also been an active member of the Temple choir when it functions. She is a Professor Emerita.
Michael Pardo: Michael is a Temple Beth Sholom “lifer” who currently serves on the TBS Board of Trustees and as Chair of the Building Committee. Michael is a real estate attorney and resides on Miami Beach with his wife, Caryn, and two sons.
Vanessa Ressler: Vanessa is currently serving as Temple President, chair of our Engagement Pillar and is co-chairing our annual event. She comes from a marketing background and has experience chairing executive director and rabbinic searches, and has participated in multiple other committees. Musically, Vanessa serves as a vocalist during the high holy days, occasionally fills in for the Cantor during Friday night Shabbat Services, and is the founder of our Sholom Rockers Children’s Choir. Vanessa is a proud Jew-by-Choice, wife, and mom to 3 daughters, all of whom have attended our Innovative School and consider TBS their second home.
Denis Russ: Denis is co-chair of the PACT Leadership TZEDEK Team of the Social Justice Network. Following a career as an attorney and CPA, he founded and led the Miami Beach Community Development Coalition in revitalizing the South Beach Art Deco District. Denis’s family have been TBS members for 70 years. He and his brother, Richard Russ, and sister, Lori Mishkin, celebrated their b’nei mitzvah and confirmations at Temple Beth Sholom. Denis holds a BS from University of Pennsylvania and an MBA and law degree from University of Miami. His community service includes being a director of Miami Jewish Health Systems and a founder at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Marte Singerman: Marte is currently a Vice President of TBS and the Leader of the TBS Kavanah Council which was formed to help its members to live mindful Jewish lives and help others do the same. She is a retired attorney and lives eight blocks from temple with her husband, Paul.
Lorraine Steen: Lorraine has been active member of TBS for 12 years. She lives on Miami Beach with her husband and three teenage daughters, who have all gone through the many programs offered at Temple Beth Sholom from Mommy and Me, to Pre-School to jLAB and the B’Nei Mitzvah program. She was a member of the TBS choir and is currently a member of the Kavanah Council.
